Hi, I’m Naomi — a wife, mama of five, and Christian parenting coach who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, reactive, and unsure how to respond to my kid’s emotional overwhelm. For years, I wanted to parent differently than the way I was raised, but I didn’t know how. Through my own healing journey, God began teaching me how to move from control and chaos into becoming a calm, joyful parent, knowing how to help my kids handle their big emotions and handling my own as well. Now I help other Christian parents do the same—parenting from a place of peace, grace, and grounded presence. I am here to support and guide you as you create a joy-filled home rooted in God’s love, where your children feel safe, seen, and deeply known.
If you’re ready to parent with peace instead of stress, to respond with grace instead of frustration, and to build a home filled with connection, joy, and the presence of God—this podcast is for you. Let’s go deep to grow strong together!

Today’s episode is a deeply special one for our family. 💛
We are celebrating Gotcha Day for our two sweet boys, and with May being Foster Care Awareness Month, it felt like the perfect time to share a glimpse into our foster and adoption journey.
In this episode, my husband Nick joins me as we sit down and interview each other about the road God has led us on—the calling, the unknowns, the stretching, and the beauty we’ve experienced along the way. We talk honestly about grief and joy, how this journey has shaped our hearts and our family, and the ways we’ve seen God’s faithfulness in the midst of it all.
Our prayer is that this conversation would gently encourage your heart—whether you are walking the foster/adoption path, supporting someone who is, or simply feeling God stir something new within you.
And if you’re longing for a place to connect with other like-minded mamas who are seeking to parent with peace, faith, and intention, I’d love to invite you into our Facebook community. It’s a safe, grace-filled space where we walk this journey together. 🤍 Join Here: www.facebook.com/share

Friend, have you ever felt anger rise up in a moment with your kids… and then immediately felt guilt or shame for it?
In this episode, I want to gently invite you into a new way of understanding your anger—not as something to fear or suppress, but as something that may actually be helping you.
We’ll talk about what’s really happening in your body when anger rises, why it can feel so overwhelming, and how to begin working with your body instead of against it.
I also share a personal story from my own motherhood where anger kept surfacing in the same situation… and how it led me to a powerful realization about my values and the boundaries I needed to set.
Together, we’ll explore how anger can be a messenger—pointing us toward deeper needs, emotions, and areas where something important may need our attention.
And ultimately, how learning to listen to our anger with curiosity can actually lead us into greater connection, clarity and purpose.
You’re not alone in this, mama. And there is a gentler way forward 🤍

Have you ever found yourself wondering… Am I being too strict… or too permissive?
Friend, you are not alone.
In this episode, I’m sharing a gentle and grounding perspective on what loving boundaries can actually look like in Christian parenting. Because peaceful parenting isn’t about removing boundaries… and it’s not about controlling our kids either.
It’s about learning to lead from a place of love instead of fear.
I share a simple story from a spring hike with my kiddos that reminded me of a powerful truth: boundaries are for everyone. And from there, we explore how boundaries, when rooted in connection, can actually become a place of collaboration instead of conflict.
We’ll walk through:
The difference between permissive, controlling, and love-based parenting
How the first steps of the PEACE process (Presence, Empathy, and Acknowledging what’s true) change the way we hold boundaries
A simple, practical flow for setting boundaries with calm and connection
Why your own emotional state matters more than you think
How to uncover the needs underneath your child’s behavior
This episode will gently equip you to move away from power struggles and into peaceful, connected leadership in your home.
And next week, we’ll build on this by talking about natural and logical consequences — and how to walk those out from a place of love, not fear.
If your heart is longing for more peace, confidence, and connection in your parenting, I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍

In this episode, we continue walking through the PEACE Process, and today we’re talking about the next step: Acknowledging What Is True.
So often in parenting, our minds quickly fill in the blanks when we see our children’s behavior. We assume they’re being defiant, ignoring us, or simply choosing not to listen. But what if there’s more happening beneath the surface?
In this conversation, I share a sweet moment when one of my children gently reminded me how easy it is to jump to conclusions about others. His simple words became a powerful invitation for me to slow down and notice what is actually true before reacting.
Together we’ll explore three simple rhythms that help us respond with curiosity and connection:
Observing behavior instead of lecturing • Listening open-heartedly to our child’s experience • Accepting their feelings without minimizing them
When our children feel seen and understood, their nervous systems settle, their hearts open, and real guidance can begin.
If you’ve ever reacted quickly to your child’s behavior and later wished you had slowed down first, this episode will gently encourage you to pause, listen, and create space for deeper understanding.
Next week we’ll continue the PEACE Process by exploring how to Communicate Truth in Love — sharing guidance and boundaries in ways that nurture connection instead of conflict.
If you’re longing for deeper support and freedom from reactive parenting, I’d love to invite you into my six-week Listening Hearts Journey — a Christian parenting coaching experience where we slow down, seek healing, and grow in calm, connected leadership.

When our children’s big emotions come out as tantrums or defiance, it can feel overwhelming and personal. In those moments, our instinct is often to correct the behavior as quickly as possible.
But what if something deeper is happening beneath the surface?
In this episode, we explore the powerful role empathy plays in peaceful, connected parenting. Empathy doesn’t mean ignoring behavior or removing boundaries — it means slowing down long enough to see the heart behind the behavior and responding with presence, understanding, and love.
Through a real-life story from my own home, we’ll talk about: • What empathy in parenting actually looks like in the middle of messy moments • What empathy is not (and some common mistakes parents make) • How empathy helps calm your child’s nervous system and softens big emotions • Why offering compassion to your own heart is the first step toward extending empathy to your child
When empathy leads, correction and growth can follow in a way that strengthens connection instead of creating more struggle.
If you’ve ever felt triggered by your child’s tantrums or exhausted by power struggles, this episode will gently encourage your heart and give you a new perspective on what your child may truly need in those difficult moments.
Next week we’ll continue walking through the PEACE parenting process as we talk about Acknowledging What Is True and helping children understand their emotions and needs.
🤍 If this episode encouraged you, I’d love to invite you to join our Listening Hearts Parenting Community on Facebook, where we continue these conversations and support one another in the beautiful, messy journey of raising children with connection and grace.

Have you ever reacted to your child out of frustration — and later realized it wasn’t really about them at all?
In this episode, I share a story about the day I left my three-year-old at home over a set of mermaid tattoos… and how that moment revealed something deeper happening in my own heart.
We’re beginning a 5-week deep dive into the PEACE process, and today we’re focusing on the first step: Presence.
You’ll learn:
What presence really means in Christian parenting
Why emotional regulation begins with slowing down
How embarrassment and shame can quietly drive reactive parenting
A simple, practical pause you can use before correcting your child
Presence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being steady enough to truly see your child — and yourself — through God’s eyes before you respond.
If you long to stop reacting in the heat of the moment and start parenting from calm, clarity, and connection, this episode is for you.
Peace begins with presence. 🤍
If you’re longing for deeper support and freedom from reactive parenting, I’d love to invite you into my six-week Listening Hearts Journey — a Christian parenting coaching experience where we slow down, seek healing, and grow in calm, connected leadership.
